The Holy Episcopal Church In
America
The Holy Episcopal Church in America is organized so that each congregation of the Church is autonomous in their business affairs. The Bishops fulfill those duties normally reserved to that office. The form of worship is individualized to the needs and preferences of the local congregation.
We believe that the Bible contains all that is needed for Salvation and a spiritually full life. We do, however, recognize that God did not reveal himself only to the Israelites. Paul himself wrote (Romans 1:20) that 'Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made ...". Therefore, truth is always truth, where ever it is found.
We believe that God did not stop revealing himself when the book of Revelations was written. The author's final admonition refers to that book of the Bible alone. And, therefore, We affirm that all the potential mysteries and miracles of the Bible are still present in the world today.
The services of the Church are afforded to all, regardless of their station or circumstance in life, unless the service would be in conflict with doctrine or illegal. Our position being that the question of worthiness is a personal matter, between a person and God. In the Old Testament book of Numbers 15:14-16 it was written:
"And if an alien sojourns with you, or one who may be among you throughout your generations, and he wishes to make an offering by fire,as a soothing aroma to the Lord, just as you do, so he shall do. As for the assembly, there shall be one statute for you and for the alien who sojourns with you, a perpetual statute throughout your generations; as you are, so shall the alien be before the Lord. There is to be one law and one ordinance for you and for the alien who sojourns with you."
